The user-friendly Android™ smartphone has all the features you require in a lightweight, fully rugged solution that’s built to withstand Zone 1 hazardous sites, and can be utilised as a cmera solution.
Technology
Powered by the Android™ 11 operating system and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 platform, the smartphone can run all the business apps you need from wherever you are with support from 21 LTE frequency bands. With no SIM lock, the smartphone can be connected to networks worldwide. The memory offers 3 GB RAM and the SD card can hold up to 128 GB.
The ergonomic design means the Smart-Ex can be used all shift. Combined with the most powerful replaceable 4400mAh battery available on the market, workers can pass the phone from shift to shift for 24 hour coverage.
Security updates keep imported data safe from unauthorised access. Built-in malware protection Google Play Protect keeps the device clean and the data safe.
The smartphone weighs approximately 380g and its dimensions are 163x82x22mm. The 5-inch display (12.7cm) uses extreme shock and scratch resistant Gorilla® Glass. The touch display works with glove, finger, touch and wet mode.
The camera is an impressive 12MP rear with autofocus and 5 MP front (optional). An LED flash with flashlight function is available. The video recording resolution is 1080p, 720p, 480p. The dual mic solution has three selectable background noise suppression options. A loudspeaker is available with Gore® Protective Vents. The video streaming function supports MP4, M4V, 3GP, 3G2, TS, WMV, ASF, AVI, FLV, MKV, WEBM.
Dedicated keys include a programmable key, alarm, multifunction, volume, and hardware buttons for Android features.
Rugged and Intrinsically Safe
The Smart Ex®-02 is the successor to the world’s first intrinsically safe smartphone for Zone 1 and Division 1. The IECEX certified unit meets global hazardous location and regulatory certifications.
The rugged smartphone has a 7-pins waterproof magnetic USB 2.0 connector and a 3.5mm jack connection with a special Ecom mounting solution. Certified at IP68 and MIL-STD-810G, the smartphone can cope with any harsh working environment. The operating temperature range is -20°C to 60°C.
Accessories
Make carrying and using the Smart Ex® even more comfortable with a range of optimised accessories. Choose the accessories that best match how you work. There’s a retractable lanyard, belt clip, coil tether, quick disconnect clip with loop, leather holster and cases for every hands-free carrying. For charging your device, there’s a cable, battery packs, docking stations, adapter and car chargers.

For all products supplied by Roaming Technologies our extended warranty support comes at no charge for the lifetime of the device.
