The Honeywell “Dolphin” PDT CT40 is an ergonomically-designed handheld mobile computer that’s tough enough to endure the knocks and drops that come with daily use.
The Honeywell CT40: Designed for Retailers to Provide Superior Customer Service
Built on Android™ and the Mobility Edge™ platform, the CT40 allows retail staff to provide exceptional customer service by looking up stock on the sales floor, backroom, warehouse, in store pick-up or delivery. Perform an inventory search across multiple locations without leaving the customer unattended.
With NFC communication and 1D/2D scanning (either Honeywell N3601 or Honeywell N6603 Slim Imager), its industrial grade barcode scanner can complete all retail requirements. The unit has a user-friendly green LED dot aimer or a sharp red frame laser aimer for fast barcode capture, suitable for both indoors and outdoors.
Worker productivity also improves without the need to physically check stock availability or complete a sale. The high-performance octa-core chipset, fast Wi-Fi, long battery life and 4G LTE connectivity means the unit is always ready for long retail days.
Features of the Honeywell CT40
The CT40 is packed with features to do all the tasks required by a retailer now and well into the future.
Honeywell pride themselves on producing ‘next generation workforce solutions’ by using state-of-the-art hardware and software technology. And the CT40 is no exception. It uses an impressive 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 660 octa-core, also used in the CT60. There is 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 32GB of Flash storage but if you need more, you can use the micro SDXC card slot for cards of up to 512GB.
Size and Shape
The CT40 has a 5.0 inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. At 294 dpi it’s sharper than most iPads, desktops or notebook computers.
Despite its ability to cope with the hard knocks, the unit weighs just 278g with the battery pack so it’s light and comfortable to hold all day.
Unlike some consumer phones, the CT40 doesn’t have an edge-to-edge screen, so the user doesn’t inadvertently touch the screen while holding the unit and allows for a stronger chassis.
Rugged Housing
While Honeywell doesn’t classify the unit as ultra-rugged, it can take far more rough treatment than a consumer phone. Enclosed in rugged housing with IP64 sealing, the unit is completely dustproof and can cope with water spray from all sides. The Gorilla® Glass 5 screen helps protect it when dropped on hard or rough surfaces from a height of 1.2 metres.
Communications Technologies
Fast Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity make this a real all-in-one device.
WIFI is available at 802.11ac and Bluetooth is Version 5.0. The 13-megapixel autofocus camera has a flash, and the unit has four onboard sensors for light, proximity, gyro and accelerometer.
The CT40 is only available with Android but rest assured, Honeywell has promised to support the Mobility Edge Platform™ for an impressive four generations of Android from Nougat through Q.
Seamless integration with third party apps is available including MDM, Push-to-Talk and VoIP so it can scan, record voice notes, image annotations and capture digital signatures.
Accessories
The CT40 has a comprehensive range of accessories making it suitable in use in the shop environment, back room and for deliveries outdoors.
Mobile Accessories
The CT40 true mobile computer with many of the same capabilities as a PC, except for the screen size. Rather than buy a separate PC, use the powerful CT40 with the Display Docking System, part of the Mobility Edge™ package. The Snap-on Adapter provides tethered USB client connectivity and the Vehicle Dock with hard-wired 3-pin power cable makes the CT40 completely mobile. A 12 Volt Cigarette Lighter Adapter and Cable is also available.
Scan Handle
The Scan Handle snaps on and off the unit easily and is compatible with the Charging Docks, Hand Strap and Snap-on Adapter.

Charger Bases can hold up to four computers or choose a Home Base Kit for just one unit. A spare Battery Pack, Desktop and Quad Power supplies and Power Plug Adapter kits are also available.
