The Honeywell CT60 is a handheld mobile computer especially designed for the retail sector to increase worker productivity and the level of customer service. Compared to its CT40 sister unit, the CT60 has more sensors and a higher level of ruggedness making it suitable for more in-field work.
Honeywell CT60 Rugged BarCode Scanner - Data Sheet
Durable Android Device Designed for Retailers & Warehouses
The CT60 allows retail staff to provide the best possible customer service with the ability to check inventory levels in multiple locations at the push of a button. Never again, will retail staff have to leave a customer to look out the back for stock. A quick search will reveal stock levels on the floor, in the storeroom, warehouse or other stores.
Once the stock is located and the customer is ready to buy, the CT60 has an industrial grade barcode scanner for use in differing light conditions indoors or outdoors during deliveries. The CT60 is built on Android™ and the Mobility Edge™ platform.
Honeywell CT60’s Features
The CT60 is built on Android™ and the Mobility Edge™ platform using technology that has changed the way retailers do business and the way retail staff work.
Ergonomic Size and Shape
Whether staff are completing stocktake or continually serving customers the CT60 is designed to be comfortable to use. Measuring just 83mm W x 160mm H x 19mm D, this handheld is ergonomically designed for holding all day, weighing just 278g with the battery pack.
The display has 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, at 294 dpi. To avoid accidentally touching the screen while holding the unit, it doesn’t have an edge-to-edge screen.
Rugged Unit
The CT60 offers increased ruggedness compared to the CT40. The extra ruggedness means its 4.7 inch diagonal display is slightly smaller than the CT40’s 5.0 inch screen. The CT60 has an IP65 rating compared to IP64 on the CT40. Its extra rugged housing and sealing means it passes a drop test from 2.4 metres, double the height of the CT40. The tumble test of 0.5 metres can be completed 1,000 times by the CT60 while the CT40 is limited to 500 times.
The increased IP65 rating of the CT60 means it can handle water projected by a 6.3mm nozzle from any direction with no harmful effects. It’s also completely dustproof and uses the Gorilla® Glass 5 screen for protection against hard or rough surfaces when dropped. A finger, glove or stylus can be used on the touchscreen.
State-of-the-Art Communications
Honeywell have set about producing ‘next generation workforce solutions’ with superior hardware and software technology. The CT60 includes an impressive 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 660 octa-core.
There is 3GB of DDR4 RAM and 32GB of Flash storage. If you need more space, a micro SDXC card slot allows users to use cards of up to 512 GB. A 13-megapixel autofocus camera with flash is available on the unit.
WIFI is available at 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth is Version 5.0. The network connectivity allows for large file transfers, video streaming and remote access to business applications.
The operating system for the CT60 is Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Honeywell is future-proofing the device by supporting the Mobility Edge Platform™ for four generations of Android from Nougat through to Q.
Integration with third party apps including MDM, Push-to-Talk and VoIP is available so it can scan, record voice notes, image annotations and capture digital signatures.
The CT60 uses the field-proven N6603SR scanner fitted with a touchscreen covered with Gorilla® Glass 3. For high-density barcodes in challenging retail or manufacturing environments you can upgrade to the N6703HD high-performance scanner with Gorilla® Glass 5 fitted and battery warm swap for multiple shifts.
The CT60 unit offers more sensors than the CT40. Both units have an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer and gyroscope but the CT60 also offers a magnetometer and pressure sensor.
